 | | Tips on safe driving in cartoon form
INRS has now available for downloading a series of four cartoon films designed to encourage safe driving. The films, which are short, humorous and contain no spoken text, are well suited for use in awareness-raising programmes or as training material. "The parcel", "The appointment", "The vehicle fleet" and "The telephone" deal respectively with how to stow loads, how to organise a trip, how to tailor the use of a vehicle fleet to a company's needs, and how to use a mobile phone. |
INRS has produced a series of four cartoons on the topic of “Driving at work”, using the same format and characters each time. The films are humorous in style, contain no spoken text, last between a minute and minute and a half, are downloadable and suitable for use in awareness-raising programmes or as training material.
“The parcel” was the first cartoon to be produced, in October 2008 (1 minute 30 seconds, ref. FLV 1A). The point of the film is to encourage drivers to properly secure loads on light commercial vehicles (LCV). The key messages are:
| |
The vehicle must be suitable for the size and weight of the loads to be carried.
Loads must be placed or stowed in such a way that they cannot move in the event of a collision or sudden braking. |
This cartoon won the award for innovation at the 2nd World Road Safety Film Festival held in Paris on 14 October 2008. Now three other cartoons have been added to form a series, each with a different key message.
The downloads are available as Zip files that contain each cartoon in two different formats – normal and full screen. Save them on your hard disk, decompress them and then open the flv file using appropriate software, such as FLV player, that can be found free of charge on the Internet. The four cartoons were produced by the Les Chinois agency, working in cooperation with INRS.
